John P. Tesei

John is the lead attorney in the firm’s land use department; the firm’s commercial real estate department; hospitality department and the firm’s aviation law group.

The land use department primarily practices in Greenwich, CT. Its members regularly appear before all land use agencies of the town and they have recognized successful working relationships with all town departments as well as many, if not all, of the design and engineering firms in the area. John and his team are consistently on the front lines of securing the approvals for construction of the major development projects in the Town of Greenwich.

The commercial real estate department provides legal services to a diverse local, national and international clientele that collectively own billions of dollars of commercial real property throughout the United States and the world. The department is well versed and has a recognized experience in complex commercial real estate transactions; such transactions would include those involving multiple layers of ownership and/or financing; ground leasing; private/public sector development; and tax-free exchanges of investment properties. A major part of this department is representing landlords and tenants in office, restaurant and retail commercial leases not only in Connecticut, but also throughout the
continental United States.

The hospitality department provides legal services to hotels and restaurants. Among the hotels is The Delamar branded boutique hotels in Connecticut and Michigan. Among the restaurants are the Le Colonial and Le Bilboquet brand restaurants across the United States, Riko’s Pizza brand restaurants throughout the east coast, as well as the Z Group restaurants located throughout Connecticut. The department’s legal services include property acquisitions and leases, financing, franchises, liquor permits, private placements, contracts, and corporate formations.

The aviation law group started by John over thirty-five (35) years ago at the firm. John, through his overall representation of affluent international and national clientele, established this highly successful aviation law group at the firm to address such clientele’s needs for expert representation in this area. Having represented clients in transactions involving hundreds of new and used Boeing, Gulfstream, Bombardier and Falcon aircraft having a collective value in the billions of dollars, today this ever-growing aviation law
group actively represents national and international individuals and companies owning, leasing, operating and financing aircraft registered in the United States, Bermuda, the Cayman Islands, the British Virgin Islands, Malta and European Union countries.
